Questions
Which skills are covered?
Grade 5 conventions: verb tense shifts, perfect tense verbs, commas after opening words and with yes, no, names and tag questions, titles of works, mix-up words (then and than, to, too and two, your and you're), and run-ons and comma splices.
How much writing does my learner have to do?
Very little. Codes are single letters, fix-it boxes hold a word or two, and only one sentence per Fix It page is copied in full.
What if my learner struggles to read the sentences?
Read them aloud together. The guide recommends it, because hearing a sentence is often how the mistake gets found.
Are there other grades?
Yes. Spot It, Fix It! also comes in Grades 2, 3 and 4, all built the same way.
