Do I need to laminate it?
It helps. Laminate it or slide it into a sheet protector and use a dry erase marker, and one mat lasts all year.

Start with the Within 100 mats if your learner is not yet steady with tens and ones.
Does it go past 100?
The mats work for sums up to 198. The Within 1,000 mats take the same idea further.
